Road Rights? Road Rage on a Scooter
I’m fortunate to live in an area where 2-wheel vehicles abound… both the motorized variety and the foot-powered variety. Boise, Idaho is usually a dry, fairly temperate climate at least 8 months out of the year… and there’s lots of beautiful country to explore, from high prairie/desert to rolling foothills to bona fide mountains. So, [...]
Sunny Day = Scooter Ride? NOT!
OK, so I live in the high desert of Idaho, where rain is usually a rarity this time of year, but we now feel as though we are the new Seattle. Not more than 1 sunny day in a row in weeks… really. I haven’t even been able to get out on my scooter for [...]
How Much Stuff Can You Fit on Your Scooter?
If you follow my blog, you may remember that I play a sort of game with my scooter… I get a charge out of seeing how much stuff I can haul on it. You see, my scoot IS my main vehicle. My hubby owns a smart car and a pickup truck, but I sold my [...]
Spring? Scootering? Game On!
Spring scootering is alive and well in Boise, Idaho… at last! If you’ve been following my posts, you know of my frustrations this spring with getting restarted on scootering. Perhaps you’re dealing with your own set of frustrations… it’s been a brutal weather year in many areas of the United States. When I first moved [...]
One Mile Forward? and Two Miles Back!
March was a great month for scootering here in Boise, Idaho. Spring arrived (or so we thought), with fairly mild days in the 50s and every once in a while in the 60s. Not that sunny most of the time, but not really raining or snowing either. Windy, but the wind wasn’t too cold most [...]
My Face Is Frozen? and Other Fun Stuff
I just got back from a short scooter ride to the bank to deposit a check. It’s a wonderfully sunny day here in Boise… the first whole day of full sun we’ve had in weeks… no lie. We have been living in gloom for so long, I’d almost forgotten what the sun looks like. While [...]
Winter Ride Bonus
Woo hoo! I thought my poor little scooter was down for the count until Spring, but today it was 51 degrees, so I decided to take a ride while I could. OK, then the cold my husband battled all last week hit me like a freight train. So I wasn’t gonna go, but when I [...]
Motor Scooter Community
What I’ve found since building my Motor-Scooters-Guide.com website is that “it’s all about community” or making scooter friends. My husband jokingly calls the people I’ve met through my website as “your online boyfriends and girlfriends”, but the truth is, I really have made some good friends here. People who care about me and each other, [...]
Winter Scooter Woes
Once again, we enter what I like to think of as my “winter scooter woes”, that time period when the roads are too treacherous or the weather is too cold or I am too unmotivated to venture out on the scooter. It stinks, doesn’t it, that we can’t easily ride or enjoy our rides during [...]
My Latest Accomplishment? 1000 Miles!
I’ve owned my scooter for just about 2 years now, and I just hit 1000 miles today, out running errands. You might say, “What the heck took you so long, Kathi?” and you wouldn’t be out of line. But for me it’s quite an achievement to get a 4-figure mileage on the odometer in my [...]

I would like to know what size of Isogrips for my o9 burgman 650 exec. with the breakaway cruise control.
Wonderful journey and experience!
I have a 2009 Burgman 650 with about 7,000 miles on it……Something in the charging system went out and the battery ran down …..I was told the battery needed replacing so I did that…..New battery ran down within a 100 miles….When the battery runs down the bike quits shifting and soon dies…..Has anyone had this problem and if so please post how you resolved it and what did it cost to do so….I would appreciate your reply as the summer is passing fast and I want to get back on the bike…..My wife has one also and we love them…..We have taken them to the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee many times…..I would like to get a heads up on the info before I take it in to a dealer…..Thanks……Rick
