    replacing old, tired seat strut...

So the seat strut/shock that holds up the seat on my 2008 '400' is old and tired and will not hold the seat up. I have a replacement shock. Do I have to remove any body parts to replace the shock? Yes? No? Any ideas?
    TIA!

I went to Liftsupportdepot.com and searched by dimensions for a replacement last year. I have a 650 and removing the side panel took a little time but with the information from LeDude it wasn't hard. Good luck.
