After thinking about the situation for a few days I decided to update the link to reflect the sanctioned site for Burgman Riders of GB.
I've learned a valuable lesson from all of this and while I applaud the formation of any Burgman club and group I'm still upset about the hijacking of the Burgman Riders name against the intentions of the founder of the GB group and myself.
The registration of burgmanriders.co.uk and routed to a different site is certainly not what was intended for others to do. The proper way to go about this would have been for someone to ask me for permission to use the Burgman Riders mark in a new domain name registration and then to point it to the sanctioned site http://burgmanriders.com/forum…..riders-gb/
The UK site is even using my logo without permission.
So the bottom line here is that I humbly ask that the UK site please just change the name from Burgman Riders, and remove the Burgman Riders logo from the site.

Bear with me – things are in a state of flux temporarily. Waiting for some feedback and I will report back – hope that's ok?

As you will know I set out recently to see if anyone was interested in forming a BurgmanRiders of GB Club, to be affiliated to the US group running BurgmanRiders.com under the ownership and administration of Steve Rhode. He agreed to the move asking that his website and forum were acknowledged and used, while realising that I was working through maxi-muppets. He also agreed that we could use a suitably amended version of his logo to show the addition of GB to the design.
The membership has exploded, which delighted both Steve and myself BUT the acquisition if burgmanriders.co.uk without appropriate discussion about its use has possibly muddied the water. Steve sees that link as confusing and there is now no link to his site from here (maxi-muppets). He wrote to me as follows:
Henry,
My first reaction yesterday was that I was damn chuffed. (US Speak for totally p*ssed off !!
……But I'd like to make our Burgman world a place filled with good fellowship and friendship.
You and I know what the intention was. So can I leave it up to you to tell the guys over on maxi muppets in the Burgman thread what the story and our intention was and let them decide what they want to do?
If they want to vote to stay there, fine. But once they know what our intentions were and that I wanted to welcome them under the BurgmanRiders logo, they've got a home with me.
Steve
So that is where the BurgmanRiders of GB Club now stands. Personally I recommend that declared members should sign up to the US site and work through there for day to day BurgmanRiders of GB matters, which should not affect their membership of maxi-muppets in any way and keep both "sides" sweet. Perhaps you have a variety of answers? Please let me know through this thread?

Sorry everyone I was away on a little 1,800 mile ride. I'm back now. I've added a special BurgmanRiders GB section to the forum for you to use. See http://burgmanriders.com/forum/burgmanriders-gb/
I also added a link to BurgmanRiders.co.uk in the side but I would be most appreciative if you could link BurgmanRiders.co.uk to http://burgmanriders.com/forum/burgmanriders-gb/ so for the sake of clarity and continuity all the sanctioned BurgmanRiders clubs and groups exist under the BurgmanRiders banner.

just catching up – does that mean we're moving from this site?
No definitely not (I'm trying to relay anything important here) but it might be easier to keep up with developments by tuning in at http://www.burgmanriders.co.uk as well?

I'm delighted to report that the British "chapter" of Burgman Riders continues to grow by the day and now stands at 32 members! Additionally we are receiving some good technical posts which may be of help generally. With the mild weather having continued into late November in most of Britain there is also a continuing call for meets and ride-outs though the very heavy rain may deter all but the hardiest Burgers!
Please join us in the discussion groups and add your "six-penneth", telling us who you are and where you are based. http://www.burgmanriders.co.uk

Anyone still not signed on to Maxi Muppets? Don't miss any news as/if it occurs. I noticed a few names from below who are missing over there, plus one or two locations which it would be good to add? Let me know and I'll update the list.

Welcome, Smurph! The ranks are swelling even as I write – I'm gonna get a secretary!! Ginger Phil has just created a new section for us on the maxi-muppets site so I will copy the important bits from here to there as necessary in case there are people who have yet to sign up here too.
Look forward to a get-together soon hopefully?
