Steve

Try this on for size!

I lost it!  I had it and it then today it vanished….into thin air!

But like you said: "Don't get discouraged".

This is simply a mental issue. But I will beat this ridiculous head block, as I love the scooter.

Come Hell or Highwater: as people of my age occasionally say.Wink

Dan,

I'm so proud of you. Congratulations.

Don't get discouraged if you have an issue with it again at some point in the future. You'll just be over thinking it. The minute you just let your motorcycle rider brain do it, you'll be fine.

As you build more seat time you will find that 90% of your reactions on the bike will become automatic.

The next time you see some awesome bike for sale with only 273 miles on it you'll know that was someone that could not break through, like you did, and instead gave up in fear. We have all had hurdles.

Steve

My one claim to fame here, I'm the guy that started the BurgmanRiders.com site.

Just when I start to relax a little I see this guy coming out of a driveway on his cell phone, and………..

Yeah!  Just when you get good the other guy gets bad.

Yes… the main problem is keeping car tar marks off of your butt.Laugh

To Steve and all the other kind riders who offered help:

On my psychologial problem of "turning from a stop"….

Fifteen minutes ago I just went ahead and turned the scooter from a dead stop: no matter the direction.

Had to get back to the computer and say Thank You Guys!Laugh

P.S.

Two days ago I called one of my instructors from the MSF course and he said that no they do not teach this in the basic course.

Now most folks do not have the "head" problem that I had so it is not an issue.  He told me this: You must get the bike leaned over and KEEP it leaned over! And then you must get on that throttle. I knew that because you guys told me as much, but I just could not trust myself to keep the scooter from lying down.

Somehow: and I do not know how, it came together just a few minutes ago.

P.P.S.

I am stil a very inexperienced rider and have miles to go before I lose the butterflys. Just when I start to relax a little I see this guy coming out of a driveway on his cell phone, and………..Yell
