Hi Denz and everyone else,
I'm new here and have just noticed your post on the 250. It's not really much help with your query but thought you might be interested in an interview I found online with the designers of the original Burgman, or Skywave as it's known in Japan (250 and 400 were designed simultaneously). It's a bit technical in parts but quite interesting, I especially like the bit where they discuss their design ethos-
'The fact of the matter is, that we have to go out of our way and make the lives of people who dwell in towns and cities more fulfilling. Surely we must do something to encourage that sense of feeling of a life fulfilled.'
Have a look here-

Hi All,
I have a 2006 Burgman AN250. Here in NZ 250's are popular since you have to ride a 250cc or less when under licence restrictions, i.e. learner or restricted.
I see a lot of parts, mods and information about the 400 and the 650 but stuff all about the 250, even the suzuki web site doesn't list the 250. I have a couple of friends with earlier model 400's and to be honest from the outside they look the same, it almost looks like they took a 400 and stuck a 250 motor in it.
My question is, does anyone know much about the differences between an AN 250 and an AN 400? are they in fact the same machine but with a different motor? or even just a different bore?
I am seriously limited to the spares I can get, I have to go to the local shops and ask them for spares since I don't know the part numbers, I can't price compare easily with overseas suppliers for similar reasons, and I don't know if the parts that look compatible actually are are compatible.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi Live on the Gold Coast in Qld and ride a 2005 K6 AN250 – same bike as you. The 400 has a larger 14″ wheel, slightly different head and tail lights, slightly different dash and some panel differences. My suggestion is you contact the Suzuki service centre here, the number is 07 5520 2300 as talk to their parts or service dept. I have had no problems having my bike serviced.

Hi, Denz.
I don't know if Suzuki produces different engine sizes, for different countries, but I have their 2006 UK. scooter brochure here, in front of me, and there's only 125, 400 and 650 cc. model's in it. (Although they have, recently, produced a 200 cc. model). So it could be, as you suggested, that someone has stuck a 250 cc. engine in it. And if so, it may not be a Suzuki engine. You'll have to take the plastic off, and have a look at it.
Best of luck.
