Burgman Rally and Smoky Mountain Ride.

I am planning a Burgman Rally for any Burgman owner and friend of Burgmans.  There is a local hotel near by and they are centrally located to the Dragon’s Tail and the Cherohala Skyway which is very close to the southern end of the Smoky Mountain National Park (Tennessee and N. Carolina), here are some of the best routes in the country for bike riding along the ridges and actually through the Smoky Mountains. The world famous “Dragon’s Tail” route is just 20 minutes from the hotel.  The Dragon’s Tail is an eleven mile section with 318 curves; this is one of the most popular locations for motorcyclist to ride.  There are several other routes in the area that are very similar with great views and plenty of things to see on the trip.

I have selected the weekend of September, 11^th – 13^th.  The Hotel is the Grand Vista Resort in Vonore, Tennessee.  Rates are $79.95 per night with full hot breakfast each morning.  The rates can go down from this with more reservations.  A better price can be possible if enough people are interested. Camping is also available and I have a list of camp sites compiled if you are interested.

These routes considered will bring 20 degrees cooler temps in the higher elevations compared to the valley, in Vonore.  Proper riding wear should be a consideration when planning.  September could be quite warm or cold it is a real crap-shoot during that time of the year.
