I know top speed gives you braggin' rights, my 250 Burg will do 130kmh (80 mph).
When you use your Burg as an everyday commute as I do, I'm curious how the torque and weight of the 2 scoots affects the acceleration times of the 400 compared to the 650?
Say from:
30 kmh (18 mph) to 60 kmh (37 mph)
60 kmh (37mph) to 100 kmh (62 mph)
80 kmh (50 mph) to 110 kmh 68 mph).
I think these figures are more crucial when you merging with traffic, overtaking and lane changing.

I will admit that I've had my 650 up to 108 on the GPS and 120 on the speedometer. I know about the 10% error on the speedo but taking that into account it seems like 108 is possible. At 120 on the speedo I still had some more to go but that was the limit to my bravery or stupidity.
Ride on.

I really think you have a problem with your GPS. I asked some of my friends that use them regularly and no problems. You have to remember the 650 is much faster than a 400. If you watched the video link you know what I mean. Good Luck
My comment on this is simple a burgman 650 will in fact do better than 108 mph. Also I have never had any incorrect readings from my GPS and I use it regularly. The GPS may be out of calculation or broken.
To prove that the 650 can run at 108 go to this and watch the video at

I'm sorry to break your bubble, but it is higfhly unlikely that that 108 is true.
I do not know why, but the max speed feature on most GPS seems to give much higher numbers than is reasonable or possible at times. I have had a trip in heavy traffic where maximum speeds never got above 50 kph showing 110 when I got home and I had reset it before I left.
I can only conclude that some how GPS at times either get confused or pick upa new satelite that gives a slightly different position and concludes to get from there to here required some huge speed.
If anybody has a better explaination I'm all for hearing it.
Sometimes GPS seem to get it right even over long periods like my 2000 KM three day trip to Izzy's. Other times the max speed function can be way off even on a run to the corner store.

Just recently returned from my 4th annual bike ride with a group of close friends. We traveled over 1000 miles in four days with lots of time to stop and smell the roses. I rise a 2006 650 and have traveled with a Garmin GPS for the last three years. I ride with ride Harley's, Gold Wings, BMW's or Triumphs. They all respect the Burgman.
This year on the second day I got stuck behind some traffic and needed to catch up with the leaders, which I did. Later that evening I ckecked the GPS for mileage and saw that the bike had gone 108 mph during the day! Had to be when I was catching up with the group. It happened effortlessly! With much more left!
