I managed to find the eBay shop where I bought my socket and a similar socket is shown though with no USB outlet. It is NOT the exact same as mine but the plug looks similar with its lead coming from the side of the cap. I scanned through about 45 pages of items online but can't find the same as mine sadly.

I might come after you for the name and maker of that gadget if what I just ordered from Amazon doesn't do the trick. I've ordered a "Kensington Mini Car Charger for Mobile Devices with USB Port,"which looks compact enough. I'm thinking I can eventually power a multiple USB miniport via this device, which will allow me to run other USB-powered devices off of it, specifically a camcorder. I'll let y'all know if I'm successful.

I had the same problem for my GPS and found an item on eBay which consisted of triple outlets plus USB socket (MP3 chargers etc) all powered from…you guessed it, a short bodied plug which allows the lid to be shut! I had to wait a fortnight while it was shipped from Hong Kong BUT it works just fine and is a bonus with the extra outlets (though I haven't used them as yet.)
The ADDED bonus was that it cost pennies! Well, less than £5 anyway.

Thanks for the note about standard dark gray tupperware color, Henry_C. I've ordered a replacement lid, so I should know soon about the color match.
I'm still trying to figure out, however, how it is possible to have a power plug plugged into the AC socket AND have the trunk lid closed. I've been looking online for something like a flush-mount cigarette lighter plug, but haven't had any luck. I found a nice swiveling adapter that provides two plug-in sources (Isimple ISVE41 Dual Adapter Plug Cigarette Lighter), but that apparently also protrudes much too far to allow the trunk lid to be closed.
Windy and bitterly cold here today (27 degrees), so even though it's sunny, I shan't be venturing out on my Burgie. Come on, Spring!

I have just installed a Givi bag to hold the GPS and intend using a very thin rat-tail file on the lower edge of the main (centre) trunk cover to ease a groove large enough for the cable to pass that way. I figure by doing it in the lower edge I should retain MOST of the waterproof integrity of that cover when closed?
As for the colour match I have a silver 650 and the inner covers and moulding such as the trunk covers are all dark grey – is that not the case with the black bike too? I imagined it would be a standard moulding colour.

I saw a warning on someone's video about how the little cover to the fuse box beside the front trunk tends to blow off when the front trunk is opened at speed, but that didn't keep me from suffering a similar fate. Mine blew off today as I was taking a joy ride, without me noticing. I had the trunk open a little bit to provide room for my GPS power cord to be plugged into the AC socket, and had used some clear packing tape to keep the trunk fastened while it was ajar. I had driven this way for a couple of weeks while I tried to figure out how I could close the trunk and yet still have access to the power socket for my GPS unit. Somewhere along the ride today, the tape on the left side of the trunk lid unfastened, and it must have been shortly after that that the maintenace lid blew off. My ride was over an hour long, and I figured it would be fruitless to try to retrace my steps (even if I could remember all of the roads I had traveled). I see that suzukipartshouse.com is offereing a replacement for about $12, but it looks like they only offer the part in gray. My 650 Exec is black. Anyone have any advice as to where I could find a black replacement? Also, any suggestions as to how to access the AC socket with a cigarette-lighter-style plug-in while the front trunk panel is closed?
