Granger Joe.
Just to keep the record straight. If you'd looked carefullly,Joe, you'd have seen that it was me, not Chet, who had the link for(and) the photo's, which I posted for “Cool Hand Luke” in Ireland. But you're quite welcome, all the same. It was Chet, who clicked on my link, and had the know-how, to up-load one of the photo's, to this site. And thats something I intend to learn to do….. Eventually……Now enough, already.

Hi all,
Has anyone else come across this or had any luck with some form of Perspex wind deflectors? I've tried the Oxford and Givi mitts, but as I'm sure you all know – they block 70% of the mirrors so not very safe. Would appreciate anyone's help or a link to somewhere where I can get these wind deflectors for the handlebars.
Thanks,
Comfortably Numb.
National Cycle make clear hand deflectors for cruisers.
Look here …………..

#5506 for the C50 Boulevard.
They don't list any for the Burgman as far as I can see, but possibly can be adapted.

It was Steve Rhode's 27th. February, step by step guide, (that you have just quoted) that I followed, when I tried it out. But on two attempts, it didn't come out right. I haven't got a clue where the scenery picture came from. I'll give it another go tomorrow, as it's 11.35 pm. now.

It is not easy to do on this site. For a start click on the tree in the menu. Then Upload Image, Browse, Upload Image, Browse Again, find what you want, Upload, you need to click on the image then click insert. And do not forget to click SAVE.

Handlebar Muffs, like Hippo Hands do a nice job of keeping wind off of your hands as well as providing some insulation. They work even better in combination with heated hand grips. Mine are on an AN400K8 but should work on a 650. The ones pictured are quite old Vetter ones; new ones look different and are manufactured in Canada.

Chet.
I remember seeing something, years ago, about Prt. Sc. and Paint, but I wasn't into that, at the time, so never followed it up.
I think I need a more detailed explanation of how to do that screen shot.
I've had two goes at it, and it's not working properly, because I've ended up with a picture of a lake, with hills and sky in the background, in ” Alan's Pictures “ instead of the hand guard picture, that I trimmed. And even if I'd got the right picture, I still wouldn't know how to transfer it to the site, like you did.
I was trying to upload the second, "hand guard" photo.
Any idea why it didn't work ?

You are welcome………
Alan
The site was not working well this morning when I tried to post this. Sorry i am late answering.
A Screen Shot is easy to do. ANYTHING you can view on your computer can be copied and saved. What you are viewing at the time you hit the button “Print Scr” is what you get. You need to dress it up a little using the program “Paint”. You know like trim the edges so to speak.
While you are looking at the screen, hit Print Scr, on your keyboard it is in the top row to the right of F12.
Then open “Paint” or “Word”, go to Edit menu, go to Paste and LEFT CLICK.
You got it!
Go to File and Save As.. a JPEG File, but remember where you saved it.

Chet, thanks for finding that link and those photos, very interesting. I have the larger/wider Givi windshield which has extended coverage for hands but they are not as tight and as protective as the ones directly on each handlbar.
Anybody know where those legs wings (as shown in the photos) can be found for a 650 as well?
thanks,
Joe

Thanks for that, Chet. Thats exactly what " Luke " was after.
There was another photo, as well, in the group, showing the guard.
But, how exactly, do you take a screen shot ? I'd really like to know, for future reference. And, are there any other ways of sending on photo's ?

Hey, "cool hand Luke" ?
The post, is a series of rolling photo's,( which, incidently, you can stop, by putting your cursor in the area, of bottom right, of any of the photo's, and three symbols [r/wind, stop & f/fwd.] will appear.) I've got them, but I haven't got a clue as to how I can pass them on to anybody !
When I'm on the page, the command line at the top, is as follows….
http://s864.photobucket.com/al…..e96c90.pbw
So give it a try. I hope it gets you to the page. And again, let us know if it works ok…. All the Best !…Alan.T…(10.50 pm. Tues. 10th. Nov.)

Hey Burgermiser,
Thanks for the update. You wouldn't happen to have a link to that 'Burgman's in my stable' post you found again, would you? Or maybe you have a photo or two that you had previously saved or even a link to Robby's where I could try to PM him?
Thanks again for the help.

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone for the replies. I've sent Steve a PM regarding the “Burgman's in my yard” post, so with a bit of luck I might make some progress. I'll continue to search in the meantime and if I come across anything suitable – I'll be sure to post it here for anyone else who is trying to solve the same problem.

Hi, CoNumb.
Many riders have the same complaint as you. It beats me, why Suzuki didn't bring the bodywork out 3 or 4 inches either side, (including the foot plates, as they are not as wide as my shoes), to cure the problem, at a stroke. The 400 is just the same. Cost cutting, without thinking, I suppose.
Anyway, you CAN get the deflectors. For the 400, and 650 models. The 650 ones were posted on this web-site, only a couple of months back, by Robby (in the States), entitled, “Burgman's in my yard”, or something like that. I book-marked the link, which was a series of photo's, and have them on my computer. The trouble is, the link has now been taken away, for some unknown reason. Ask Steve Rhode, who runs this site, he should be able to help you, despite him saying he's never seen them for the 650! ………Best of Luck!

I wear these electric gloves wired direct to the battery. Wire goes down each sleeve of the jacket and then plugs into gloves. Other end of wire come out back of jacket and plugs into wire below seat.
Easy as pie! Hands are warm as toast in the coldest of rides.
Expensive as all get out! A little bulky at first but you adapt real quick.
No more cold hands: no matter the conditions. Let the wind blow on your hands it won't matter.

I know what you are looking for but I've never seen any for the 650.
Have you considered something like the Gerbing heated gloves. It was easy to add the connector on my 650, just straight to the battery.
