Howdy Everybody,

I know it’s been a long time since I have posted and some buzz going around on the forums about me. Well, let me tell you where I have been. This past December 30th, I had full hip replacement surgery. Yep, that’s right. I got a new hip for Christmas. ( Estimated cost $46,000 ) I have posted some videos on You Tube about it so I will embed them in this article. I am mending quite well but I think I will let my videos explain.

It’s Been A Month Of Sundays Since I Have Posted A New Article

Hello everybody! It’s been a month of Sundays since I have posted a new video or an article on the website. Our fearless leader Steve has posted my video “Attack Of The Kidney Stones” and I just wanted to say “Thank You” for all the kind responses from my fellow Burgman Riders here on the forum. I know one thing, they hurt like a big dog !

Howdy every body!

At this time of year here in Tennessee, we are blessed with blue skies and longer days to ride. It seems like it has been raining forever! Now we can enjoy our Burgy’s and hear the call of the open road. One thing you must keep in the back of your mind is to HYDRATE ! Take a short break, take in some fluids and smell the roses as you ride. There is nothing else like it.

Here is a video I’ve done just to give you a quick update of what is going on with little old me. I hope you enjoy it.

Remember to HYDRATE and be safe out there. Keep those cards and letters coming in and Happy Birthday America!

Howdy Everybody!

I hope everyone is having a good summer this year. Were having some great weather right now so I’m taking advantage of it and riding as much as I can.

There is a rider on You Tube that got his first look at our beloved Burgmans and had nothing but praise about it. He has over 1100 subscribers so he may get the word out. Well, Here is the video.

Howdy everybody,

I know it’s been awhile. Time to get back on the ball again. Been busy with life in general. Busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest !

I went to a new scooter group meet up this past Sunday. It was our second meet up. The first one I was so excited on meeting new scooter riders, I forgot to vlog. Not this time.

On a safety note. I just got a new rear tire installed on ALF. It had about 12K miles on it and was getting to the wear bar. What is a wear bar? It is a bar that is made into the tire when it’s close to the cords to remind you to replace the tire ASAP. On a car you blow out a worn tire, you still have 3 others. On a bike, could be major trouble.

If you have to replace the tire ( or tires ) you have to scuff them out. That is to get the mold release off the surface of the tread. For the next 60 or so miles, you need to ride it like it’s raining. No hard leans into curves and then increase you lean angle a little at a time. Before you know it, your running at those twisties again.

Tornado and Burgman – Smyrna Cowboy

Howdy everyone,

This article is not really Burgman related but it is in a way.

Today (4-10-2008) we had a series of Tornado’s in the Mufreesboro / Smyrna area. Here is a You Tube video of one. This Tornado was 8 miles from my home.

How is this Burgman related you ask? Well, the riding gear you wear can help protect you in event of a Tornado. I went to a “Surviving the Storm” event sponsored by a TV station here and told us about using, Motorcycle, football or baseball helmets to protect your head in such a weather event.

Just a reminder. In case of a Tornado, go to the basement. Under some sturdy furniture if you have any. If you don’t have a basement, put as many walls as you can between you and Tornado. Cover yourself with a blanket or a mattress. Another good place is in the bathtub on the ground floor of your home covered also. Make sure you have your riding gear on and wait till the storm has passed.

I knew riding a Burgman has a lot of advantages but I never thought of this one!

Smyrna Cowboy Job, Info and Links

After some new events that have entered in my life, things have calmed down a bit so I’m back. Wondering what events? Yes, I did make a video.

I’ve gotten quite a few emails about the mods I have put on the scoot. The # 1 question was about the “Blind Spot Mirrors” I have on ALF. So instead of giving you just ONE link, here is a list of all the URL’s for the mods I’ve done. ( So Far )

I would like to remind all the riders out there, in most of the country spring has spring which means………….. Cutting the yard. ( BOOOO!!!!) Yea, I know. I’ve had to cut mine last week. What does that mean for us riders? GRASS CLIPPINGS on the road. If someone cuts there grass the day before you go riding and the road is wet with dew, be very CAREFUL! They can become slick as owl poop so be on the lookout for that. Also road lines, crosswalks and man hole covers.

Smyrna Cowboy Turns to Space for Directions

Howdy everyone,

Down here in Tennessee it looks like winter is loosing it’s grip and starting to thaw. More and more bikes are going on the rode which means……… Road Trips! YEA!

I plan to do more trips this year but I HATE to pack maps and try to memorize roads and highways. Whats The Smyrna Cowboy to do?

I got a idea! How about a GPS!

I shot some videos of the Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS I put on ALF and I need YOUR help to decide which mount to use. Here is my review plus a little music trivia game. Name That Tune!
