This photo is of me ready to leave for the first (Inaugural) Southern PA Scooter Meet.
When this was taken in September 2004, the day after labour day, I had ridden exactly two weeks and then been in a quite serious accident caused by a learner driver making a left in front of me. I was still in some pain from that and only had the bike back a month from being rebuilt.
At that point my longest ride had been 70 kilometres and here I was setting out to ride 825 KM. I was also about to turn 61. I was also dressed in the only riding apparel I had.
It took me two days to get to Dener PA, the second day I rode thru Hurricane Francis which dropped 17″ of rain. As you see I had no rain gear. — Richard
