I got my Burgman 650 Executive back today from taking it in for its first service appointment at 600 miles. Others have reported various costs for the first service but mine only cost $100. Seemed like a good deal.

The worst part of the first service visit was being without the bike for a few days. I made the mistake of dropping the scooter off on Saturday for service on Monday and Tuesday. What I learned was that a couple days without the Burgman for a ride makes me anxious.

Riding the Burgman is so much fun and so relaxing that a couple days without it actually makes me tense or stressed or something. Okay, I don’t know what it makes me really but what I do know is that a day without the Burgman is not an optimum day.

So when I picked up the bike I was showing the guy my new Burgman Riders T-shirt and I mentioned that I was glad to have my ride back. He said that he was surprised that everyone that brought their Burgman in for service seemed to love it and say it was so fun to ride. I immediately agreed.

  1. Wow, that is cheap for the initial 600 mile service. Did they do everything?

  2. Chad, Now that you mention it I went back to look at the receipt and the dealer only list engine oil and an oil filter for parts. I’ll have to give them a call and find out about the rest.

    I’ll keep you posted.

  3. OK all. I just got back from visiting my local dealer and asking them why the receipt does not show transmission oil and final gear oil on it.

The service tech that worked on my bike said “It takes so little we just include it under shop supplies. If we itemized all that little stuff we’d spend our days typing rather than working.”

    Okay then, works for me!
