Here is a great video that shows the operation of the BreakAway cruise control on a Burgman 650 scooter. If you watch the video you can see how it is released by applying the brake or with the thumb release.

It certainly looks like a better solution than the poor man cruise control that I reviewed.

  11. Very peculiar audio. What’s the odd “pounding” sound in the background?

    Also, I call that high rpm runup business under no load “Burgman abuse”. Someone should notify the authorities.

  12. The BrakeAway is the nest accessory I’ve ever added to my Burgman. It was an absolute necessity for my wife, an inexperienced rider with carpal Tunnel syndrome. I see it as the only really safe throttle lock in an emergency condition.
