Yesterday I went to meet some Burgman and scooter friends at the weekly meet at Cole Park Plaza in Chapel Hill, NC. If you want to come out and meet us, the get together is Sunday at about 9:30 AM. You can find the shopping center by looking for Plaza Drive in Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

Scooters are underrepresented and there is room for more at the friendly weekly meet. Most of the bikes were sports bikes or the HD group. I did get to see a Honda Ruckus up close with a full back seat. A very interesting scooter.
If you were just cruising by the meet it might look like a lot of leather and a bit intimidating. We tried to wave at passing scooters to get them to stop but no luck. Next week we’ll park our scooters up near the 15-501 highway so other passing scooters can see us. Everyone is welcome and the coffee is very good.
This was my first time there and all the bikers there were very friendly. I even ran into Jeff, a BMW biker that was from Damascus, MD, near where I used to live. We got to swap Washington, DC traffic stories and both agreed, we don’t miss it.
An older grizzly looking biker in a half helmet, Doc, rode up proudly on a red 50cc Chinese scooter. Doc was very gracious and a stitch.
Anyway, on the ride over there I was running a bit late and pushing it a bit. On the Burgman 650 Executive I was flying past traffic on the 70 mph speed limit interstate. It is about an hour ride for me to get over to the meet from Wake Forest, NC.
I chuckled to myself as I kept passing cars and came up with the shirt below.

Once I got there and told Robin and Cyndi about the shirt idea they said, “Hey, what about us girls?” So Danny, the talented shirt artist, and I did this one for all the Burgman scooter girls out there. Can’t leave you out. That would be sinful.

I’m not sure I want to tell you how fast I was going when passing cars but let me say this, the Burgman can fly, fast! I made short order of about 225 miles yesterday and when I got off the scooter, I was ready for more.

Nice move on the shirt: I’d say this should be incorporated as standard – but maybe for production economy unify the back wording to “You just Got Passed by a Scooter”?
….or change the “a” to an “i”??
I love that tee. If only it were printed on the back of my riding jacket…..LOL
